I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in December 2013 where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences. I am endorsed in 7-12 Business, Marketing, and Information Technology Education (BMIT), Cooperative Education, and Coaching. I currently teach at Papillion La Vista South High School, and teach Marketing I, Marketing II, Marketing Internship, and am the school’s DECA advisor. Prior to, I taught one year at Omaha Burke High School where I taught a computer technology class called FACTS (Freshman Academic Career and Technical Skills). I taught students basic Microsoft skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher) and incorporated a little computer programming along the way using Code.org. This will be my 3rd year of teaching.
The purpose of this learning log is to document my journey through the EdTech program and it will also be a way of organization for resources and artifacts. I chose the Boise State EdTech program because I really enjoy technology and I wanted to complete a Master’s program that I actually got something out of, rather than just going through the motions to get a degree and pay raise. My hope is that this program will enhance my technology skills and knowledge and sill be able to immediately apply what I learn to my own classroom, helping my students to utilize technology along the way. I am excited for what is to come!
